How to reach Rangat?

Whether travelers opt for government buses, private buses, private cabs, or government ferries, Port Blair serves as the starting point for their exploration. Here are the transportation options for reaching Rangat from Port Blair:

Government Bus to Rangat from Port Blair:
Government-operated buses offer an economical option departing from Port Blair at various timings, with a preferred early morning departure around 4:30 AM. The journey takes approximately 8 hours via the Andaman Grand Trunk Road. Tickets are non-air-conditioned and can be purchased from the government bus depot in Port Blair. Return tickets from Rangat must be booked at the Rangat Bus terminus.

Private Sector Buses to Rangat from Port Blair:
Private buses, both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned, also depart from Port Blair at different timings. The suggested departure time is early morning for an 8-hour journey. Tickets are available at their respective reservation offices across Port Blair, with boarding points near the Aberdeen Bus Depot. Return tickets can be booked either in Port Blair or at Rangat Bus terminus.

Private Cab to Rangat via Baratang:
   - Travelers can hire a private cab from Port Blair, ensuring a convenient and accompanied journey. With a driver familiar with the route, this option eliminates the need for additional public transport. Return options are not required, making it an efficient way to explore Rangat.

Government Ferry to Rangat from Port Blair:
   - Government ferries offer a direct route from Port Blair to Rangat, taking approximately 5-6 hours. The ferry route includes stops at Neil Island and Havelock Island before reaching Rangat. Ticket bookings open 1-2 days before departure, and return tickets must be secured from Rangat itself. The Yerrata Jetty serves as the harbor for Rangat.

 

For travelers coming from Havelock Island or Neil Island, the same government ferry route is applicable, with pit stops at these islands before reaching Rangat. It's important to note that government ferry schedules may vary, and planning ahead is essential, especially for those with a limited duration of stay in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
